Walking into Fall

Happy first day of Fall! If it hasn’t become extremely obvious yet then, news flash, I’m obsessed with shoes! My husband used to question me on my need to buy more but he knows better now and has stopped. Thank goodness, because after a while of the same excuses I started to feel bad. One should not feel anything but pure bliss while buying shoes! 💁🏻

Now, I’m just waiting patiently for the weather to finally cool off so I can wear my booties that hide the fact that I’m in dire need of a pedicure…am I right? I wanted to go ahead and share these because a lot of my favorites are on sale. Score!

One: Hinge | Two: Steve Madden | Three: Charles David |Four: Lucky Brand | Five: Sam Edelman | Six: Kristin Cavallari | Seven: 1.State | Eight: Vince Camuto

One: (wearing these in the photos above in grey) I bought these during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and I am so glad they’re back on sale now! I went back and forth on wether to buy them in grey or beige at the time and I ended up going with grey because I didn’t have anything similar but now I really want to order them in beige! They are so comfortable and have the perfect heel height! In my opinion these have an edgy/biker/tomboy feel but they are still so feminine at the same time. If you’re looking for a versatile bootie, these are them!

Two: I’ve had my eye on these and finally ordered them in grey because they were selling out so quickly in my size! They’re under $100 and I can’t wait to pair them with a skirt for work!

Three: GIVE ME ALL OF THE LEOPARD! If you read my last post then you know that I’m a sucker for leopard, especially leopard shoes. These are on sale and I might just need to order them the next time I have a Nordstrom Note!

Four: I love that these are perforated and breathable. I picture these being worn to a tailgate with cuffed jeans and your favorite jersey! You can’t beat their $70 price tag!

Five: THESE! I want them in every color but the snake print is my favorite! At $160 they’re a little pricey but would be sure to serve as a staple in your fall wardrobe for years to come!

Six: White leather booties are all the rage this season. I’ve been searching for a pair that I could get on board with and these are them! I love their pointed toe and the white leather mixed with the wooden heel! These are pretty pricey so I’ll likely wait and see if they go on sale!

Seven: I made my mom buy these for my sister for the school year! They’re under $70 and come in three different colors. She wears them with cuffed jeans and dresses and I love them every time!

Eight: I bought these in beige during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and am in love! The heel height is perfect and I love the detail at the top! They’re not on sale anymore but still a great buy, that will work for years to come!

All of my selections are over $50 and I realize not everyone wants to spend that much on shoes. If you have a certain style you’re looking for and wish to stay under a certain amount please let me know and I would be so happy to try to find a few options for you!!

Thanks for reading, I know this was a long one but hopefully it helps you walk into fall! 😉

Leopard at Work & Our Anniversary

Leopard at Work & Our Anniversary

Happy Hump day! One of my favorite things about working is getting to dress up, it always has been. This may sound crazy but I could never work in a place where a uniform is required. Some people love not having to think about what to wear to work (on some days I don’t blame them!) but planning an outfit is in my top 5 favorite things ever! I try to go beyond the typical 9-5 dress code and these shoes really inspired me! Leopard is by far my absolute favorite print to wear and I especially love wearing it in the fall. While Hogan and I were out shopping last weekend I spotted these leopard heels and I knew they were going home with me!! I was all 😍 and “can I get them in an 8?!” I tried them on with an army green dress in the store (as seen on my Instagram) and loved the look so much that I couldn’t wait to wear them with these green pants of mine! Besides the leopard print my 2nd favorite part of these shoes is their block heel. Ever since being pregnant, walking in a stiletto isn’t as easy as it once was! I’m also more afraid of falling (in heels) while holding Hogan so, any shoe with a stable heel is a new friend of mine! If you love these shoes as much as I do you’re in luck because I found them for 50% off which is $50 less than what I paid for them and they are selling out fast, so hurry! On a side note this button down is the most comfortable one I’ve ever worn! The fabric is so soft and so versatile for all seasons. I am so bummed (but totally understand why) that it is almost sold out at Nordstrom. I’ve linked one that looks very similar and just as comfortable above.

Also, yesterday Luke and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! I am so blessed and thankful to be his wife and am grateful for the time he takes every day to make sure that I know I am beautiful and so loved. It’s amazing how becoming a parent changes your views on what’s important in life and words can’t explain how thankful I am that he is so helpful with all of the “nitty gritty” parts of parenthood. He’s the one that packs the diaper bag everyday, he cleans all of the baby bottles and my pump parts everyday and organizes all of it in our baby cabinets. Every morning Luke brings me a cup of coffee in bed while I pump and I’m most thankful for the one on one time he gets with Hogan while I’m at work. Hogan sure loves his daddy!

Last year for our anniversary we celebrated in Chicago and it was so much fun! Little did we know, baby Hogan was in my tummy! This year has been a little different with a new baby, we had a quick lunch date since we both had to work! I love that even with all of the new changes that every year of marriage brings we continue to try to be better for each other everyday and keep focused on the reason we first fell in love 7 years ago. I love you, Luke! Thanks for reading!

First of all, thank you for taking time out of your day to read my blog! Frankly Fort Worth has been in my mind for a few years now, though it’s taken a big life event for me to actually put it into play. I wanted to start this blog while my husband, Luke, (I’ll talk about this guy a lot!) and I lived in California (2014-2015) but how was I supposed to live my Frankly Fort Worth life 1,200 miles away from home? I put my aspirations to blog on hold while our life was in transition to move back home to Fort Worth and settle down after our marriage in September 2015. Life changed tremendously on June 6, 2017 when Luke and I welcomed into the world our precious son, Hogan (I’ll talk about this boy a lot, too!). Ever since that day our life seems like it has been flying by and we just fall more and more in love with our boy everyday-how is that even possible?! So as my final days of maternity leave were upon us Luke and I sat down to discuss the new changes we would face with me going back to work. After hours of heart to heart discussion (you know, not continuously of course, because we have an infant who’s already interrupting us) we decided that the best decision for our family was for me to go back part-time. So, with each day passing quicker than the day before and a little more time on my hands at home I decided to follow through with my dreams and activate Frankly Fort Worth where I will write about our daily life, my style, food, fitness, home decor and of course all of the things I love about Fort Worth, Texas! Hope you enjoy!
